Honoring The 20 OF 2020

For years Katrina Eileen Real Estate has hosted our event series, On the Shoulders of Giants, at the Columbia Tower Club in Seattle, WA. These events were meant to celebrate the leaders that have come before us and allow them to pass the torch off to the incredible entrepreneurs of today. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we were unable to host the event in 2020.

I have been friends with Mike Flynn, former publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal, for years and he often participated and interviewed the giants during the event.  Our last event featured my dear friend, Frank Shankowitz, founder of the Make-A-Wish foundation and of my charity Level Up Seattle.  It’s with a heavy heart that the world  lost this legend earlier this month.

Mike also had an affinity for celebrating leaders and created events like 40 Under 40, Women of Influence, and The Minority Business Awards.  He came to me in 2020 and told me that he wanted to throw an event to celebrate the business professionals who had pivoted their business models and truly shined during the pandemic. I immediately jumped on board and engaged our entire team to help.

We reached out to the community in search of nominees and we were flooded with entries of like-minded folks who really stood out as shining stars.  Our panel of judges reviewed the countless entries and narrowed it down to the honorees who will be celebrated on February 11th.  Due to my long-standing relationship with the Columbia Tower Club they were happy to participate by sponsoring the venue, but with the restrictions still in place the event has been modified and is going to be a virtual celebration emceed by Pat Cashman, and will be recorded live at the CTC.
