Our goal is to provide our guests with a comprehensive overview and understanding of the home inspection process, along with what to expect from a professional home inspection company.

Including:

  • An overview of the home inspection process.

  • A deep dive into the many topics and systems we look at.

  • Insight into numerous common deficiencies, including possible causes.

  • Tips on home maintenance.

  • How we can collaborate together as realtors and inspectors

In doing so, we can provide the best possible experience for our clients. Our hope is that you walk away feeling empowered. We are confident you will feel excited for your next live home inspection by providing greater clarity in what is normally a stressful part of the home buying process. Making the process about educating your client about their new home a much more enjoyable experience.

Remember, every home will have some deficiencies. What matters is how we educate our clients on what they can do to become the best home owners possible.

Class Itinerary:

10am-12pm-Round robin style field training.

We will split the class into two groups one with Allen Weisser and the other with Tyler Rodrick. Each inspector will be covering different sections of the home for the first hour, then the groups will switch to cover the remaining sections of the home with the other inspector.

  • Group 1 sections- The Home’s grounds & exterior, roof, interior, bathrooms, & crawlspace.

  • Group 2 sections- The Home’s major appliances (water heater, heating/AC system), electrical panel, plumbing, kitchen, & laundry room.

During this portion of the class, even as busy as it might seem, questions and open conversation is highly encouraged. Please share your thoughts and experiences with us, it really adds to everyone’s experience.

12-2pm- Lunch & Advanced Training

  • How to prep your clients for what to expect during a home inspection both sellers & buyers.

  • Limitations of a home inspection.

  • The benefits and resources Handshake Home Inspections offers our client and realtor partners.

  • Mold & Air quality testing, identifying when and who it might be important to recommend this service to.

  • The importance of paying for what you get in regards to home inspection services.

The second half of the class is intended to be more of an open forum and all ideas, topics and questions are welcome at the table.
