42 Years Later Former Foster Youth Gives Back BIG to High School That Changed His Life
James, a former foster youth and student of local Mariner High School in Everett, now Microsoft Accountant spearheaded a donation of $85,000 to Mariner High School. $42,500 of the funds came from his own savings and $38,00 were matched by his employer, Microsoft.
James Abbott knows the true meaning over over coming obstacles in life. His story or hard work and perseverance is an inspiring one.
“Had it not been for that school and those teachers, I’d be working some job where I’m living paycheck-to-paycheck,” Abbott said. “A lot of people give money to their college. What about their high school? That’s where it all starts.”
