Hardwick’s Swap Shop, at 4214 Roosevelt Way NE in Seattle, has been a family owned business since 1932. http://www.ehardwicks.com/ We love this place for a bunch of reasons. Hand-written price tags are one—where do you see that any more? Also great prices on pots and pans, used furniture, and other household stuff; a huge selection of both used and exotic tools; and a staff with a wacky sense of humor. I know a woman who went in to buy a Japanese chop saw, and the guy asked (smiling), if she’d like that in pink or blue. What is this, for a baby shower?
